Welcome to the VRMA/Sportsbet tipping competition for 2017-18

CONGRATULATIONS to the VRMA/Sportsbet tipping competition winner for 2017-18, Patella, aka Tony Kneebone who wins $1000 courtesy of Sportsbet.

It’s back-to-back wins for Winning Post’s editor Kneebone ended the season on 651 points,  ahead of Warren Huntly (Wokka) on 611 and Denis Huxley (Smogdog) on 607.

The 2018-19 season competition will again be run a on a points and strike rate basis, judged on a minimum 40 city meetings.

The 2018 Spring Sportsbet competition will be judged on a points basis, 5 for a winner, 2 for a second, 1 for a third with the top saddlecloth number as substitute for a scratching.

Cut off time for selections each race day is to the jump for race one, if your selection is scratched you are transferred to the topweight. (One selection only per race)

The 2018 Spring award will run from Memsie Stakes day September 7 until Sandown Classic Day 17 and be judged on a 5, 2, 1 points basis, ie 5 for a winner, 2 for second, 1 for third.
